@gifu totally called it.

He said, as soon as you modify all this stuff, you’ll find the original..

Which I did. The bag of intake parts had fallen under the back of my workbench.

FACK.

Will pull the grid heater off the FTE and run that one here.

I have just doubled my work because the double cab pick up has arrived.

Amidst the craziness of unpacking a whole second project I did put on the oil filter spill pan. It fits!

Lots of actual progress today. I bolted up the HF1A shifter. There is no corresponding space in the H151 for the steel pins to ride, so I ground them down flush and bolted it up.

@Unoman stopped by the barn. He helped me put the shifter plate in the right location, and then we nutserted the holes and got it into its final location. Transmission and t case shifters fit and shift through every gear without interference.

After CB had to go, @Fern1109 arrived. We scrubbed the cab and bench seat clean, let it dry in the warm Texas fall sun, and started to lay down Dynamat.

That mini truck sure does pull its weight around here. No pun intended.

(@c2dfj45 chastised me already for just using Dynamat so I guess I’ll do a layer of Second Skin Spectrum)

We also laid out the floor mats I had. They are HZJ79 mats with a different set of cutouts for the shifters. I think I can probably mask it. The brown VDJ79 double cab mat does line up perfectly. I don’t know how hard I want to push to try to find a gray VDJ9 mat for three exposed inches of vinyl edge that is going to be under the edge of the seat anyway.

I have a extra grey front floor mat that didn’t work on my Ute. We could try and see if it would work on yours by taking measurements. It might also have a part number still on it. I won’t be home till the 28th unfortunately.

@coldtaco cool.

I bought a second dash cubby that sits in between the seats and the shifter. It will probably cover the gap just fine.

I wanted to finish the Dynamat up the firewall tonight but I’m too tired. My ass is sticking to the Dynamat and I’m beat.

Bucket o’ Spectrum sludge arrives tomorrow.

Heat Wave Pro for the cab roof and transmission tunnel arrive soon, too.

Does this need to happen?

Back to work: modifying the HZJ79 fuel filter bracket for the larger diameter HDJ100 filter base plate.

@shanko is kind enough to leave his capacitor discharge welder at my place which comes in handy for jobs like this. 15 minutes from start to finish.

Waiting for the paint to dry to bolt it up.

I finished off the Dynamat, masked the edges and slathered on some Spectrum sludge.

As I started to goober the stuff on, I had a real sense of “oh my Lord what am I doing???“, the kind of feeling I haven’t had before in this project. I hope my surface prep was good… Because I think this stuff is staying down for a long long time.

Looks good and that Spectrum is there for the long haul. Interesting stuff....easy to work with.

You can get that Spectrum in the kick panel areas.....or stick some sound deadener in there. I think sound can resonate in those areas like that. Same in the seatbelt areas. On my camper we had the bottom of the cowl done.....everything actually. No white paint visible when we were done.

It will make it beautiful and healthy :D

For real, I'm interested to see how well it works!

Me too! Will try to check on it after work.
