After a decade, I'm putting together a '77 FJ40 and came across these two rubber shims. I've carefully labeled the longer one "transfer case) and they both have a hole appropriate for a shift lever. I cannot find any mention of these in the microfiche catalogue I have. Have you seen them before? Are they OEM? Do they go under the transmission hump like this?
