Great turnout and awesome food, thanks to Larry, Frank and Jeff.
David, Johanna and I went MTBing afterwards at White Ridge Ojito wilderness and had a great time.
I understand that this area will be closed off starting November for Elk calving? If so, where is the gate as we didn't go through any to the camp spot. Seems like this area needs to be open for the ranchers to do their business.

There is a swing pipe gate at top of the old paved road. A small sign says area closed from mid Nov until mid May. I don't know if local ranchers have access during this time.
The gate may get closed, but whether it is actually locked, I don't know.
We had a great post breakfast ride up and down the La Ventura mesa. Great food, too. We missed you, Larry. Get well soon.

Great time, thanks to everyone for showing up, cooking, eating, hanging out in the cold and around the fire. I hope Saturday camping was also good.
I don't think the FS permits any cattle grazing up there in winter so the gate isn't a big deal for them. I suspect it will be locked though to keep out the riff raff like us.
