Morning visitors, they seem to be enjoying the acorns which there was a bumper crop this yes. Guessing around thirty scattered around the property. Bulls have no problem using their rack to move the cows away from a spot they want to feed. One bull obviously lost most of one side of his rack in a fight.

What elevation are you at? I was in Hunting Unit 8 last week scouting for Elk and saw none... but did most of my work around 6000'.

Bulls are together and seem to be more aggressive towards cows than other bulls while feeding. Rut seems to be pretty much done. Hear elk making sounds but not bugling. Believe the elevation just under 7,000'.

Couple of evenings ago driving back to the cabin had elk on the property and in the street. One bull refused to get out of the street and was facing the vehicle as I creeped by. Was less than a yard away from the driver's door. He never moved out of the street. Know of a town in Canada where they have to be careful of bull during the rut. I wasn't sure if he was going to charge my FJ62. Of course phone wasn't with me. Use to having this happen with cattle in the forest but a first time for elk.
