The windshield stickers are here!

This sounds really nice but I will be having heel surgery on the morning of the 8th. Do think I can still make it?

I was able to fix a scare from that blasted ID10T trouble code in the which I thought that I wasn't going to be able to attend the run that I was planning. Needless to say we are fast approaching this run I was thinking that there is a big staging area on the west side of the road ( I don't know exactly where) is where we would meet up and how early is too early to meet up, 9:00?

someone care to post a Google Maps link ? and a meeting time ?

is anybody planning to pe-run the trail, considering the recent monsoon rains etc. ?

So here is going to be the plan start meeting at the Circle K in Superior by 8:30ish for last minute fuel, food and restroom breaks and then at 9 head over to FSR 357
(E. Hewitt station road) to begin traveling clockwise on the road to Montana Mountain.

Roughly 33 miles is the length of the loop with many opportunities for pictures along the way with Montana mountain at

33°24'19.6"N 111°09'15.7"W

Elephant arch is a little bit of a hike but can be reached at

33°20'42.8"N 111°13'04.6"W

and a miner's cabin with a 1/4 mile detour at

33°22'42.5"N 111°07'01.8"W

here is the link to google maps of where everything is it should take about 3 hours to complete this run and it should be easy enough as to not do a bunch of damage. Google Maps - https://www.google.com/maps/search/Transit+stations/@33.2815277,-111.1693176,661m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m7!2m6!3m5!2sMontana+Mountain!3s0x872bd45a6ef5ab4f:0xa6de63fbdbff0eef!4m2!1d-111.1542886!2d33.4047752?hl=en

I can't tell where this is... Montana Mtn. mentioned but not really confirmed. Also, @OverLand Cruisers made a really cool offer but I didn't see if anyone replied to that...
If @OverLand Cruisers wants to plan Classic Cruize 6 I will gladly pass the baton ;) 🚙 I just didn't want the classic cruize to disappear, I always try to keep it fairly centralized.

If anyone wants to get a jump on the run there are plenty of places to camp in &/or near Superior.

I camp just a little ways (< 2 miles) from the Circle K for Superior area runs. It is a little noisy from the perlite plant next door, but a little rum 🍸 drowns it out. I wouldn't want to spend a weekend there, but it works great for an overnight. Has great view of Picketpost Mountain!

That answered a big question i had. I didn't know if that one section was closed but i guess it is. We will have to work out a detour

3 hours is quite optimistic - just sayin'

Are you talking about the gray road 357? You just take the blue roads 293, 252 instead. I think it is well marked so you don't get caught on the wrong road.

In 2020 we went counter-clockwise and came out near Queen Valley Road and didn't even go near the closure.

Just looked at the weather for next weekend and it looks to be low in the 60's and high in the low 90's. Bring extra water but over all it doesn't look to be that bad, and as of right now it looks to be drying out.

Realistically, how long will the loop take?
In 2020 it was raining almost the entire run and we ran from the Circle K to where I turned off at the edge of the Tonto Forest for camping in 4 1/2 hours.

Picket Post from above...

From the staging area across the road from the Arboretum - FR8 / FR650 / FR172 - to the start of pavement beyond Hewitt: 3:25 hours. So, no FR252 back to the eastern start of the loop. 2 vehicles, a few momentary stops, but no pauses. Attempted lunch break up at the turnout spot cut short by wasps being too interested in my sandwich... To run the entire loop as a larger group in 3 hours - you guys better be hauling the mail.
