I'm evacuating Downtown Portland, Oregon as zombies have officially taken over. Moving to Downtown Denver, which I just last week visited, and decided to move within an hour of being on the ground. Great city, very clean, MUCH fewer dirty druggies/bums, and lots of NORMAL people happily going about their lives. Great scene and much closer to the great canyons of the American West I've fallen in love w/ over the last few years!

Hence, I'm loosing my amazing Portland mechanic, Chris Beavers (at Broadway Toyota). I need to find a 100-series specialist mechanic that I can work with moving forward, hopefully as close to downtown Denver as I can find.

Please advise!

You have Slee, ATLR- affordable Toyota Lexus repairs, and more.

Truth^^

Paul @2001LC for top notch baselining/maintenance/repair/restoration. Slee @sleeoffroad for all the big and fun upgrade services and then for storage and organization go check out this little shop up north I seem to drive to everyday - Air Down Gear Up. :)

Welcome to the area! If you dig the downtown vibes, go check out Pearl Street in Boulder. Lots of good beer and the strange people watching is top shelf.

@2001LC is the best in the greater Denver area.
that's quite a reputation to live up to! why do you say that? please expand... or PM me with that info.

I'm a cultural refugee from Portland, Oregon - I'll take a hard pass on Boulder and "strange people watching" for the rest of my life, thanks... ;)

As I recall, I owe you several beers for your AHC tutoring. Your chances of that happening have increased exponentially. Thanks for the 2nd vote for @2001LC.

Portland must really be terrible to make you find the Denver s*** show so appealing.
we're urbanites. we like the activity of a city. i think everyone has their own idea of what constitutes a failed city. portland is the prototype - if you want to know how bad it can get, visit. it's bad. i've lived downtown there for 15 years and watched the fall. every city has riff raff - always has and always will. we've visited all major cities west of the Rockies in the last 2 years. but after an hour in DT denver, it's clear the city still respects it's public spaces. at least in the urban core where we will live, it's nearly as clean as salt lake city (the cleanest we've found), there's very little graffiti/anarchist presence, it doesn't wreak of urine, people have retained their birth hair color, and police/private security are allowed to do their jobs and keep vagrants/druggies moving (we witnessed this, and were in shock). we had a great time there, people are SUPER nice, and we're excited to live in a city again. most importantly, we're now only 4 hours from Ouray, and 5 or so from AZ/UT canyonlands. beats the 16 hour drive from Portland!

Welcome to CO. Just giving you a hard time. I’ve lived in both Englewood and Lakewood in the past and still have family in both so visit as often as I can stand to. It is a great hub but just way too busy for my taste being the opposite of an urbanite.
