Ron should be up North now, maybe behind the redwood curtain, of course redwoods not the only green grown there. Hmm,

Checking in now that we have cell service. We've been crawling up the coast on Hwy. 1 and one of the coolest places we camped was Usal Beach, right on the beach. Then started up through the "Avenue of the Giants" a road through the redwoods, truly unreal if you never seen them before. We are working our way up the coast at a slow pace and loving every minute of it. Pig is running great, so glad I got the new transfer case. We're spending the night at a motel to do laundry and regroup.

@ a 5 mile drive into the beach and here we go again, Jeri says, remember the last time you went in one of these...

Set up camp right on the beach.

We talked to some locals there and they were saying there was cougar activity in the area.

Headed up the road to the redwoods...

Cooked up a couple of ribeye steaks, potatoes and onions with a couple rounds of Bud, seating on the beach watching the tide roll in, don't get much better!

Methinks we should consider a N. California, Oregon or Washington coast Pig Party. We gotta get back to the NW...OR and WA are the only western states the Frankencruiser hasn't been to.

We're camping in a state park tonight and going to hike Fern Canyon in the morning. Fern canyon is up in the Redwood National Park. The return trip is all back roads to Lake Tahoe then across 50 again and down to Hwy. 70. Thinking of shooting off and going to Moab for fun then across 70 and home. Again today was endless beauty driving through the redwoods, stopping and having lunch right under them, unreal. It truly is some thought provoking scenery, looking 1,000 year old trees.

Fern Canyon was on my trip list before IT closed the border and the redwoods trip didn’t happen...

We hiked the canyon and then found some roads in the park to take. We've been very lucky with very few people, everywhere we go the views are awesome. I didn't bring my camera along in Fern Canyon, but it was something to see, almost out of this world kind of beauty. Here's a few of the days travels.

Always time for some wild pig hunting. Found these two in Big Flat, Ca. on the Trinity River, must be a hoarder... Fair game! The green was in better shape, no contact with the owner.

Spending the night in Redding Ca., then working our way over to Hwy. 50 and across Nevada again. Hwy. 299 across Ca. is a great road to take for sight seeing.

I forgot to mention paying the highest so far for fuel today at $7.20 a gal. 91 octane.
