Ok, so quick matter of opinion. I have a set of 60 wheels with brand new tires that fit on my truck. The tires are 31". Current rims on my truck are sporting 30" tires, also brand new. They look deplorable though so I was thinking maybe I sell the current steelies as they are and put the set of 60 rims on my truck. Or, get the tires dismounted and get the rims powder coated and call it done. Here's a couple pics of a mini with chrome 60 series style rims.
What y'all think?

Pic of my truck for reference. And it'll be tan as well.

I'm thinking of redoing my wheels really. Not a big fan of chrome. Sigh...I didn't want to throw money at it. I am already throwing tons at my 60.

If your 60 wheels are in good shape you could probably sell them for enough money to pay to redo your steelies.

Thought of that as well.

I wrestled with the same thing - redo the OE steel, chrome or powdered 60 wheels, 40 wheels...

In the end, I decided on powder coated 40 wheels - basically, our OE wheels with tabs for hubcaps. I think these trucks get away with more/different wheels because they came with a handful of wheels over the years.

My vote: refurb your OE steelies!

And so I worked a few hours today dismantling the old chap. Everything went well, except I did break the vent on the right side while trying to remove it to reach the dash bolts.
I don't plan on having this appartfor too long so everything is kind of just laying on the garage floor. Hope to have it back together with the new cab in a week or two.

Lots of broken bolts everywhere while trying to remove. Luckily, the new cab is pretty unrusty and I have a lot of new fasteners laying around.

So about 7 hours and she's naked as can be. I really only need to remove the handbrake cable and the cab can come off. My whole truck is sitting on the garage floor. I have to do some work to the frame and then it goes back together. Must make a list of parts first. I want to get my ac going again.
Couple pics.

Got an engine gasket kit to reseal the old basterd. Also got a timing chain kit as well and attempted to order some ac parts that broke. I have a feeling that toyota parts deal will come back saying they can't fulfill said order. Pretty sure the two ac refrigerant lines are nla.
Cab is off chassis, I will pull the motor too this afternoon.

Hoses can be made. Just take your old hoses to a hose shop, and have them reuse your old ends. I've heard some radiator shops can also make AC hoses.

Thanks guys, it's not the hoses, it's the hard lines that are broke. The one crossing in front of the condenser and the one coming down off the drier. Plus no rad shop wants to even attempt corring and re-roding my old hj60 rad, let alone try some custom ac lines.

I think the newer trucks' lines may work but the drier has to be bought as well, and I already bought a stupid drier. I guess I can return it. The 5th gen trucks' condenser and lines looks exactly the same.
