Head unit replacement with seperate AC controls (1 Viewer)

I would love to seperate my ac and radio controls... just so I would have more radio options. Just like my 16' Sequoia ....
Not sure this can be done ? I believe the GX landcruiser is setup that way??

Anyway, my radio/head unit has been nothing but problematic!!! Intermittent problems - radio comes on and off, did that for years... now it doesn't work at all! No sound with anything....
Fuses all good..... no idea, what the hell...did Chevrolet design this pos head unit

I have not heard of such an option for LX.
THERE ARE Tesla style replacements that still integrate climate and radio, but replace the factory unit.

There is a thread here somewhere where a member replaced parts with the hard button lower controls from overseas from a low spec LC. It is possible, but I'd try a Tesla style personally. Cheaper and easier.
