Front Heater Variations (1 Viewer)

I need to find a replacement upper plastic housing and vents for the front heater on my '81 FJ40. Most of the full heater units for sale are for model years 9/75-7/80. Does anyone know what specifically changed in '80 vs '81 models? I have the metal housing, heater core, etc, just need the plastic parts on top.

the indicators for heat, defrost and vent changed and had a red color, so they stood out more
other than that I don't know.

Thanks for the reply 3_puppies. As we all know, p.o.'s can do some strange things. My heater vents were removed and blocked off??
