Im pretty sure i used paypal when i bought from him
I dont have any of that stuff, just visa and he does not take it so I guess my check engine light will be red with very faint choke lettering because I cant find that anywhere else, not a big thing man, thanks for all your help

Can a truck oil pan be run on a SOA setup? Searched and found some pics but can’t tell if there will be interference at extreme flex.

Is that a truck pan in those photos? Im unsure on SOA, but id assume youd have more room. Maybe someone else can chime in if they used the truck pan. Generally most people end up using the H3 "hot rod" pan or whatever. Holley makes a few too that are similar.

Not sure on the 60 but my 55 has about a 6 inch lift so probably close to soa and the truck pan was not going to work for me. I did the 2000 camaro pan of rock auto. A lot cheaper than holley.

Idea of my lift.

Granted, I have a frombie high steer I was trying to miss also. I don't think I wanted to FAFO the wrong way.

@Megadoomer
Thank you for the pics. Helpful to push me towards doing the pan.

@dbbowen
The truck pan sits about 3 inches lower. The shorter pan puts the oil filter close to level with the bottom.

I plan to run the well sorted engine mounts. So the engine will be in a defined spot.

It was $110 when I got it. Still a good price. Fair warning, it does not come with tiny gasket that blocks the oil cooler outlet near the filter. Learnt that after it was full of oil.

I've been meaning to do this for a while now. I havent really seen any how to guides or anything online and this one isnt going to be absurdly thorough or anything but will get you onto the right track. If i forget something, ill do my best to go back and edit it and add what i forgot. This is just meant to be something to read and show you that its possible and you can totally do it. I honestly think that if you can work a floor jack, and can change a radiator out you can do a LS Swap on your 60. The most specialist knowledge youll need is to do very very basic mig welding. Ive been around guys doing it to miatas, 240sx, and other smaller cars and compared to that, the 60 is cake. Ill try and include ways to make this as easy as humanly possible for you, and offer a few examples for parts based on pricing, and basic fabrication level involved. This swap is really really simple, its just a lot of work. This thread is aimed at normal people doing this swap on their own and not "master mechanic" types, so the explanations will be simplified and (hopefully) thorough.

This will be a table of contents, each hyperlinked text below will quick jump you to a different step in your potential swap. That way you dont have to go digging through a bunch of posts to find what you are looking for:

-Engine differences, where do you start, what to look for?
-Bought an engine. Now what? What to do before you pull your 2f or 3fe
-Pulling your old motor out and installing adapter and transfer case to new trans
-Engine bay prep and installing your new motor into your cruiser
-Heater Hoses
-Radiator and Hoses
-Transmission lines, Power Steering Lines and External Coolers
-Fuel System and Brake booster Vacuum
-Intake Ideas
-HVAC/AC Hoses
-Transmission and T-Case Shifters
-Wiring Part 1. Ideas, Tools, Harnesses, etc.
-Wiring Part 2. Gas Pedal
-Wiring Part 3. Wire Harness prep, Initial installation, measuring lines, computer/fuse/tac module mounting, loom
-Wiring Part 4. Standalone harness final installation
-Wiring Part 5. Wiring Resources. FSM. Wiring Diagrams. Helpful Videos
-Wiring Part 6. Cruise Control Ideas
-Wiring Part 7. Gen 3 AC Idle up and Electric fan control via PCM
-Driveshafts and 4l60e transmission pan clearance
-Exhaust part 1. Ideas, parts, tools, planning
-Exhaust part 2. Welding it up and routing
-Finishing up, Topping off Fluids, Exhaust Heat management, troubleshooting, dyno tune
-DONT FORGET THE BOLT CHECK!
-Closing, planning and mindset, keeping your swap rolling smoothly during the build

If you have anything to add to any of the posts, let me know and i will add it to which ever post it pertains to, and quote your addition including any photos or links youd like to share.

This swap will focus mostly on gen3 motors and the 4l60e transmission for now, please feel free to add anything for other transmissions and Gen4 stuff and ill add it to the thread. Besides wiring, the gen3 and gen4 swaps should be pretty similar. For those of you who have already done this swap In the past, feel free to add anything you ran into along the way and ill add it along.

Please keep in mind, i just did this swap in my driveway, and I am by no means an expert, nor am I claiming to be. I am still learning every day about stuff. A buddy of mine who has done about 15 LS Swaps in a plethora of different vehicles still claims to not be an expert. This is just a space for folks to learn about stuff. If im wrong on something, please call me on it so i can fix the post. Also im not really the best writer out there so if my writing is hard to follow in spots or if i get rambling just message me if you need some clarification on anything.

Hey! This post has made it into the FJ60 FAQ!

Since its 2022 now i guess this has to be posted... but these are just suggestions and not qualified advise, do at your own risk, for offroad use only, filmed on location in Mexico.
This is a really great thread! Just joined yesterday. Thanks for adding me! Doing the ls swap is one of the major reasons I’m looking for a 60 or a 62. When I was about 13 my uncles friend had a fj60 or 62 can remember the shape of his headlights. But he had a corvette engine in there. Going hunting in that truck was a young guys dream!! The sound of that engine was amazing! So down hear in south Alabama I’m beginning my quest. Maybe I can obtain one in a couple of years. Also my dad and I had a 74 and 78 fj40. Those LC’s were very stout and capable in the woods where we abused them!

Nice! look forward to seeing your swap if you get around to post it on here. Fuel injected v8s make the FJ60 platform so so so much better.

A guy showed up to our TLCA meeting with an 80 and it had a 2010 Camaro 6.2 in it, along with the 6 speed auto.

Hello! I was hoping someone can give me some insight or point me to the right direction.

1987 Land Cruiser, had a 2F engine with H44F transmission.
Conversion:
-LM7 Vin T from a 2000 Tahoe (Originally automatic transmission) with 5.3L LS crank pattern
-H55F Transmission

I have purchased these kits from MARKS4WD:
-Bellhousing adaptor
Bell Housing Adaptor Kit - LS Series V8 to LandCruiser FJ Petrol (Manual) | Marks 4WD - https://www.marks4wd.com/mfk560g3.html
-Engine mount kit
LS V8 Engine Mount kit - Toyota LandCruiser 60 series | Marks 4WD - https://www.marks4wd.com/mfk40430.html
-Clutch kit
Clutch Kit (Organic Plate) - Chev V8 Petrol 12" - 10 Tooth Spline | Marks 4WD - https://www.marks4wd.com/mck110.html

My question is how do I mate up the clutch to the clutch pedal with the new adaptor?

Thanks for any help

That kit uses the original toyota slave cylinder and throw out bearing arm right? I was skimming the instructions and it looks like you would shorten the push rod on the toyota slave and install it to the side of the bellhousing and reuse your TOB arm and connect your clutch line to the slave cyl. I dont really have any experience w the kit though. Maybe someone thats used it can chime in

Adding a comparison of the 62 and 60 mounts side by side. I needed a new mount and plan build a crossmember. It seems like the 60 mount would be better since it is wider, has more contact with the case, and new holes don’t have to be drilled and tapped. The aftermarket 60 mount does hit the front out put housing barely. It was clearanced with a hammer.
