Good progress. What are the system pressures? And does the accumulator/drier have a sight glass?

System pressures:
Low 45
High 250
Ambient temp was 105F
Drier has sight glass. Whitish flow through. Not clear liquid.

Needs more refrigerant. At that ambient you should be near 300 on the high side. Feed it vapor until the sight glass just does clear up.

@SipLife dialed in his AC. Needed some additional Freon. He also got his 4 degree shims on to tighten up the wander. Looks like it did the trick.

@Cowboy45 got the last bits done. Skid plate, roll bar and bikini top. The guy is hard on tools. Had to run to Home Depot to get a new drill. My trusty drill was off center wobbling like it was orbiting the sun after he got done putting the tire carrier in😩! Not easy finding a 33x10.5x15 tire.

Both rigs are ready for SAS.

Dad’s rig gets the dregs of the chalice. It needs an oil change, fluids check, tire rotation.

Neat to see all this action happening across the country. Really wish we could make the swing down through DFW. Another time.

You and Jess are always welcome at the Elf Barn. Hope we can make that happen soon.

Heading to SAS. @SipLife was chasing down a sporadic crank sensor wiring issue on the road. Muscling through it.

we left @Cowboy45 truck in Casey’s barn in Amarillo to dodge the rain. Someone played a prank and parked it in the large puddle in the morning.

Made it to Alamosa.

We got home at midnight on Saturday. Loans haul. Boys did 2000 miles of driving in their 40s. No hiccups except a faulty starter on @SipLife ’s truck. We threw in a new one and it seems to be doing well.

Got unpacked and sorted. Got at :princess: long overdue timing belt replacement on the 100 series. Looks like PO used non-OEM belt. All OEM going back in.

Glad to see y'all got back safely, CD. It was a good trip. I'm bummed we didn't get much time around the campfire, but we'll make it up.

What all is getting replaced on the 100 series?

100 series is getting timing belt replacement and all the “while I am in there” bits. All OEM.

Do the fan bracket, too. I don't see it on that list. Future You will appreciate the consideration.

Oh, and alternator brushes ("brush holder" in the catalog)...they're ~$10 OEM and are a 10 minute job at this point.

Good call. Doing all new alternator and AC compressor. Brushes work on 80s. 100 series and tundra’s have the alternator low on the engine and they get wet and caked in mud. Bearings rust, squeak and they fail. They are a b!#ch to replace. Easy now. AC needs a refresh. Compressor and condenser.

Boys hit Classic cruisers in Poncha Springs on the way to SAS. Good thing I had my epi pen handy.

Now I know where to go, to get a 3FE exhaust manifold for my 2F!
Great stash Lee. They are good folks to boot.

Got some 80 series locked axles locally. Rare these days. It will go into the HJ60 -Rootbeer. Planning a Trail Tailor coil conversion on all fours. It’s next on the block. Frame swap to a 62 frame, 5spd conversion. @CenTXFJ60 has been nagging me since I got the frame from him. What started this whole thread😁! Will be buttoning up timing belt work this weekend.
