Total nube here... I am moving from Texas to Alberta and need a snow beast. I am in love with 2 girls: 1) 100 series and 2) manual transmission. My question... can the swap be done on a 100 series? Can i get a manual transmission in there and how disruptive would it be vis a vis traction control, 4x4, etc...

Does anyone know where I’ll be able to find one of these RHD manual shifter surround for an early model? Anyone have one to sell?

2. 3FE

3. 270,000mi

4. Swapped

5. H150F from Aussie FJ80

6. Full time

7. 4.10

8. No modifications, but had to pull it apart to have a broken reverse fork welded back together

9. No modifications to transfer case

10. Fuel consumption: Average driving city/hwy: 14-15mpg. Best so far - 17.3mpg hwy @ 65; country roads 15-16mpg; mixed hard driving 12mpg. Average with auto was 11.5-12.5 mixed light driving, hwy 13-15mpg.

11. OME stock height, 33x10.50R15 BFG, bullbar, winch, spotlights, roof rack, roof tent, awning, some JDM aesthetic bits

12. The combination of the deeper gearing of the manual coupled with the elimination of parasitic loss from the auto has completely transformed the 3FE. It gets up and moves worth a damn now, has lots of torque in the 1000-1600rpm band which wasn't useable before, takes very little throttle to move, goes up hills at 65 mph in top gear on the highway, etc. etc.. Plus it's a lot more fun to drive.

Love to see the interior! It can be quite challenging on a truck with a good amount of miles on it...

So would I - still on the to-do list, still chasing some mechanical bugs and long-deferred maintenance.

I'm torn between making it as wild as the exterior, and doing something a bit more sedate...
