Armor is definitely on the list for me regardless of staying with the OEM tank or putting in a larger one. My wheeling is pretty dang light to be fair, but I'm unlucky that way.I'd say level with the frame or close to it. If youre a 2" body lift kinda guy for 35's like me, I'm guessing you could use a flat piece of sheet as a skid plate and have some room for distortion from impacts. I'd rather have jerry cans than low hanging un protected fuel tanks. I've never seen anyone destroy a tank, but the ones on my Gwagon and Trooper always seemed kinda low, like "oops we forgot we needed a tank for this design, so let just stick it right here". not a fan.
