1974 FJ40 FST

SOLD! Thank you!
1974 FJ40 FST

$24,800.00

The Land Cruiser Heritage Museum is offering an opportunity for a Land Cruiser enthusiast to purchase a vehicle currently in the museum's collection. Offered for sale is a 1974 US market FJ40 factory soft top, manufactured in November of 1974.

This vehicle has been a part of the Land Cruiser Heritage Museum exhibit since 2014 and is currently on display. This vehicle is a very late 1974, with 1975 being the last year for the soft top FJ40 in the US Market. It retains original soft top related hardware that is difficult to find - original factory soft doors, top bows that are complete and intact, rear soft top specific one-piece drop down tailgate is present and intact. The front doors still have the original white canvas material. The top canvas material is not present. The front side marker lamps are in very good condition (and are almost impossible to replace).

The body is mostly straight with the exception of the left rear corner behind the wheel. A crease/dent exists on the left quarter panel and is very repairable. There is rust behind the rear wheels and in the rear sill. The frame is straight with no visual evidence of excessive rust. The paint is original with a patina that has been polished.
The powertrain consists of a F-155 engine with a 4-speed transmission. The engine is original and all of the emissions components are present, including the air injection system. The exhaust manifold has been replaced with a header. The gear boxes, axles and suspension are intact with no visual signs of impact damage or excessive rust. This vehicle comes equipped with Selectro locking hubs.
The interior is original with upholstery that will require restoration. The instrument panel is in good condition with the original accessory AM radio present. The dash has been neither cut nor modified. The dash pad is cracked. The odometer shows 19,488 miles and is in excess of mechanical limits.

Overall, this vehicle is a good candidate for a straight forward restoration. Factory soft tops are uncommon and later production soft top FJ40s are even less common.
The vehicle is offered at $24,800.00 and can be inspected during regular business hours in downtown Salt Lake City, UT.

Yes, the front markers are gone. There are knock-offs out there but the lenses are wrong.

It sold a couple days ago. I spent 5 hours today moving it out so the buyer can collect it tomorrow morning.
