As long as it clears the sender sufficiently, esp. with the scooter mechanism it would be a bad day to have a passenger rip the sender off and lose fuel status. 🤷‍♂️

Trans cover installed with new shift boot. Still need one for the transmission shifter though. Driver seat is in too. Fuel tank is drying and will go in tomorrow with the cleaned, painted and relined with fresh felts on the hold down straps.

What is the plan for the opening for the light in the dash pad? My 68 was already rotted and covered with blue indoor outdoor carpeting when I bought it in 1974. After my moved to the big city in the late seventies I picked up a pad from a wrecked 78 and just wired the light into the light in the instrument cluster lights.

Where did you buy the pad from? Have at least three cruisers I should buy dash pads for.

I am eliminating that dash light. It's is pretty useless in my opinion. My dash is set up for the smaller version and i decided not to mess with it. The dash pad is an oem version I sourced through City Racer.

Today I buffed out the original paint again. Painted and installed the aprons with all new hardware. Installed the turn signals, rear corner reflectors, and hood hinges.

Interior side. Everything looks good. The hinges seem incorrect though.

Pictured below is the windshield strip that came with this 40. I am not sure if it's original or what??? If not....anybody got a picture of the oem one?

That will work but not original, original was steel and square with a slit to slide the top in. Those hinges are hard door hinges. I have two nos door side hinges here, but you need the correct body side to work with the original removable hinges. I like the idea of using glass instead of lexan..
