You have to monkey with them. Drill out the bracket on one end and pull it from the old set of cylinders.

Not willing to pay $137.50, EACH!!! for hatch struts from the local Toyota dealer. I decided to mod some struts that are easily obtainable, and priced very reasonable... Make sure it's what you want. My spoiler comes within 1mm of the roof when fully open. Any wind or flex will make it have slight contact.
Some guys have complained that they have full contact of the spoiler on the roof.
Thanks guys! I can probably handle that. Yes, I'll only be doing this mod if I have clearance issues with my slide-out Dometic CFX 75DZW. The spoiler may need to come off as it's currently within like 1mm of my Cruisin' full length roof rack.
