I strongly advise reading the sticker or you may have a surprise the first time you open it full 😅
Been warned. Boom!😳

We store some fuel cans on the top of our dryland fire trucks because of volume constraints. Not Toyota cans but same design. They get pretty pressurized in the summer in the heat and sun. We were in a heated moment that needed one of our portable generators refueled so I grabbed one of those superheated gas cans, twisted the top (too much) and took a fuel bath from my waste down. The guy manning our water cannon saw that and pummeled me with X hundreds of gallons of water which helped but I had pretty severe crotch burn and had to leave the fire fight. Ok, drama over 😂 but yeah, watch those fuel cans and pressurization.

That’s crazy!!
At this point I don’t plan on using it. I have 4 Russian fuel cans I use regularly. I just really wanted one and a friend had one for sale so why not. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Way back in post #41 of this thread @Economist LC76 posted a picture of a small Toyota grill. Was pretty happy to come across another. The cooking area is 15" x 10", so it’s nice and compact. Comes with 5 original skewers, a rotisserie, blue tongs, and another tool which I think is used as a grate lifter. This genuine Toyota Accessory needs to be on every Land Cruiser trail ride!

Something pretty cool just came in. First, a brief little history. Kiichiro Toyoda began producing vehicles under the name of TOYODA AUTOMATIC LOOM WORKS in 1935. The name was changed to Toyota Motor Company, Ltd. in 1936, born from a public contest. "Toyota" was decided on because it was more pleasing to the Japanese population. It requires only 8 strokes of the pen to write, as opposed the 10 strokes required to write ToyoDA. The number eight is considered to be a sign of good luck and fortune in Japanese culture. From Toyota-Global website:

The third issue of the Toyoda News, the newsletter of the Automotive Department, dated July 5, 1936, included a notice of the rules for submissions to the Toyoda logo contest. The first prize was 100 yen, the deadline for submissions was August 15, and notice of the contest was placed in leading newspapers. The October 10 eighth issue of the Toyota News announced the winning Toyota logo, selected from more than 27,000 submissions and announced that the product name would be changed from Toyoda to Toyota on the advice of industry leaders. The article used the new "Toyota" name exclusively, referring to a Toyota Gifu announcement, the Second Toyota Dealer Conference, and the Toyota nighttime patrol service.

Below is an example of what may be a key produced around the time of the company's founding, and a great way to see the difference between the ToyoDa and ToyoTa logos. Note the two "slash marks" after the "TEQ" on the first key. Those two marks differentiate the logos. TEQ with the two slash marks translates to ToyoDA. Remember, it takes 10 strokes of the pen to write it that. TEQ with no slash marks translates to ToyoTa (8 pen strokes). ToyoDa Motor is also written in English on the reverse. Although I have no way of knowing, the ToyoDa key might be an uncut original key from Toyoda's first or second year of existence in 1935 or 1936. Fun stuff!

That many? :p

And here’s a sheet metal hammer I had not crossed paths with before, from the same period as the above tools. Seems to be more scarce than the Maruki hammer from the early 40 series tool rolls. Several other old Toyota sheet metal hammers and tools were available, but have proven difficult to find. They appear to be rare birds, indeed.

This Vileda brand is from a German company. They made these chamois-like cloths for Toyota and Nissan, and probably many more. Here's the Toyota version, probably from the mid-70's. Can't quite make the first five digits of the part number. The cloth itself sure is stinky!

The above is in post #404 of this thread. Below looks to be the a generation or two after it.

Cool steel sign that came off an old Toyoda loom (Model G?). The second pic shows it on an actual loom. Came from an ebay seller in Indonesia. If anyone is interested, the bottom link is to another one he has for sale. I was able to negotiate a very fair Buy It Now price for the one I have so you can likely get it for far less than what it is listed at. He sent it DHL and it came within three days. I was pretty impressed.
