Wow, 20000 seems overkill. How does the fan act?
I assume 20000 is twice as thick as 10000?
If I was going to do it again right now I would use 8000cst instead. The 10000 does make the fan run faster when it should be not needed. Slightly faster. I can tell it is running while driving around on local roads, forcing TC unlock on some hills that I used to get up locked no problem.
It now keeps the water temps in mid 180's, not 190 as the thermostat would regulate.
The trans runs cool while towing at least, and this is why I live with it

I was running hot the last couple of trips and thought maybe the oil was breaking down or temp setting shifted. Temp setting was still at ~105* fwiw. Oil looked like honey.

Lowered temp setting to 100* and refilled with 10k oil. Got two full tubes of Mr T oil in.

I just reinstalled and started the truck and it took 30-60 seconds for the roar to go away. I think maybe my perception of the "startup roar" was drifting over the years. The roar is back!

Will report back after next trip and see if it helped. Fingers crossed.
