Someone needs to save them?

Kinda hard to look at…o_O

Pardon the momentary highjack. Is it just a bone yard Ryan? Selling off parts or just yard art?

The original post is less than five years old. There are tons of old cruisers like this. I used to save them myself. Now they suffer the same fate.

Had all these between thirteen and eighteen years.

Stretched her legs and ours for a bit this last weekend. Couple of tanks of fuel, and a couple hundred miles of asphalt and dirt. An unusual amount of compliments on the rig from strangers. My daughter thought it was quite comical.

Forgot to add that during the drive home it was very rainy and my wipers broke! The linkage seemed to have come apart. I parked under the shelter of a bunch of trees and used Two screwdrivers and a crescent wrench to take the dash apart and make the repair. I love the simple, utilitarian, field serviceable nature of these vehicles

I ordered some new parts for my D.U.I. 80820 distributor. The FJ40 is here now abou 6 weeks so as I run thru it, I am trying to investigate all modifications and running gear to insure it is up to par. I had a bit of trouble finding data sheets and manuals for the distributor until I found Performance Distributor online and was in touch with a man named Gene. He guided me thru determining which model and how old the distributor was by a number inscribed on the bottom. Took my camera phone on reverse and while it took about 5 photos, I’d actually found the number. With this magic number Gene tells me the age and parts I would need to update the parts. Just waiting for UPS.

Again, terrific service…. By the way: It turns out that distributor is over 20 years old

Interested in why you load them in reverse... is that about getting wheels over the front trailer cross member without blowing your tongue weight limit by chance? Just setting my camper/flatbed up for hauling my LC, so "inquiring minds" ;0)

Only because they don’t run and the way they were parked required to be pulled out tail first onto trailer. If I run a larger trailer, reversed can help with clearance - all situational either way.

Visited my favorite tire store, got a modren laser ray measurement of my toe-in (after the knuckle jobs and TRE replacement). Turns out that my measuring tape toe-in was just fine.
Then got some new tires mounted.

That stinks.
It does. And strange because Toyos usually, for me anyway, have always balanced very easily with few weights.
They put the FNG on my job and i don't think i trust his work. I think I'm gonna have a talk with his boss tomorrow
