It’s been years since my son and I did ours. We did grind it down so the angles matched the inside of the bumper. Not sure it will create any fatigue as long as you put a bead on the underside of the top plate and can get the washer and nut on the top. Here’s how the arms sit on my truckFinally getting around to putting the swing out on and I’m thinking I may have f***ed up? Rather than grinding a bevel into the bottom of the spindle I welded in an angled brace on the bottom plate of the bumper. This had the unwitting effect of raising the whole assembly by an inch. I can weld in a spacer on the latch side and top it with UHMW, but is this unintended height going to cause me extra metal fatigue and failure down a bumpy road?
