We are working on an FJ55 w/what looks to be factory air.

The fan and compressor controller switch is a wheel, not a knob and doesn't work. By passing it makes everything work fine.

First, anyone have experience with this? My '79 FJ55 had factory A/C but I don't remember what the switch looked like.

All comments/suggestions are welcome, except any regarding what kind of dog to get. I like Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, haha.

Thanks,

GS

That looks like it could be a potentiometer that works with an ac amplifier circuit located near the evaporator. When you bypassed the control, what exactly did you do?

Looks like the a/c in my 77 FJ55.

The only fan switch is on the dash, 3 speeds.

The dial in the a/c unit is for setting the a/c from lest to very cold.

It also turns the condenser on.

Not sure if this helps much.
