1976 FJ40 4 speed to 5 speed H55F Conversion Attempt (1 Viewer)

When I installed an H55 in my 40 I also installed a late model 40 rear axle with parking brake. I modified the hump for the shifters and mounted a floor mount parking brake lever. My work was far from meticulous and even then once it's finished and painted it looks normal.

If ease of acquiring and installing are your priority, call Georg Esterer and he will build you the whole combo. H55F, split case and OEM parking brake. I also chose a lower gear in the TC and a reproduction shifter for the TC. It was not cheap, but it’s all there in one step.

This what I did and the H55f and TC are on order now with the E-brake on the TC as I had with the 4 speed.
