Any help on how to separate the Disc Rotor from the Axle Hub on a '78 FJ40? I took the bolts off the back of the Rotor (that I assume hold it to the Hub) but I can't figure out how to separate it from the Hub. Appreciate the direction!

I think you need to press (hammer) out the wheel studs.

If I'm thinking correctly here.

I believe they are bolted together from the back side of rotor.
Wheel studs are just through the hub flange irrc.
Just rust welded together.

Need to push out lugs.

Two bolts into rotor; then you need to hammer out the wheel studs, use a lug nut on the threads to protect the wheel studs. Use same lug nut as sacrificial lamb. . .

Lug studs only need to be pushed out on 60 hubs. 40 hubs just need to be forced due to rusting.

Not sure about the 76-80 models requiring the lugs to be pressed out. The 8/80+ are the same parts on the 40 and 60 series.

I can verify the 1976 models had pressed in lug studs. I think the 1975 and 1977 did, too.
