Belt tensioner failure 233k miles (1 Viewer)

About a week ago I started to notice a slight whine at higher rpm. Thought it was radio whine. It would stop once I got back to idle. Then it started to become more prevalent. Was one pitch at acceleration to freeway speeds and a lower pitch at deceleration. It was the belt tensioner. I tried to turn it by hand once it was removed. Impossible. Not sure why it didn’t fail completely. Can imagine it was close.

I'm gonna guess it was the serpentine belt tensioner.

I assume it had 233k miles on it or was it replaced over the course of your truck's life?

I believe it was the original.
