Looks great, you should stuff a 5.3 in the S-10 and use it for a shop truck. All of ours up here have rusted away.

Funny you mention that. That’s my next project after Bluebonnet. I’m putting the frame from that S10 under a 5 window Chevy 3100. Truck will have a 5.3 and be slammed on bags.

I'll be interested to see how it does against noise vs a thick headliner.

Probably would’ve been better if I did a coat of sound deadener before the liner but I was eager to get this thing finished up before school starts back up. I’ll report back on the noise level.

Noise? In a 40? It’s part of owning one. That and the occasional gas fumes. 😁

And man does that truck scoot! That’s the first LS powered 40 I have driven. Thanks for letting me test drive @SipLife
Bluebonnet is a sweet truck.

Any time Pat, glad you had time to stop by and visit us at the barn! Next time don’t go so easy on the skinny pedal :flipoff2:

Paint and clear went down today, top is done.

Also looked into my rear parking brake cable situation. Taking this truck to SAS in August and want to have a functional PB. The cable I had was from a troopy and was 75” from equalizer to the PB handle. Going to try a SWB 70 series cable and PB handle that should be about 20” shorter from equalizer to end of cable.

Looks great! I will try to get you that cable measurement tomorrow!

Awesome! That will be the coolest truck on campus. You did a lot of hard work in a short period of time.

Thanks guys! Big thanks to my pops @ceylonfj40nut for the funds and guidance on this project. I understand how lucky I am to have the resources and barn space to own and complete a project like this and don’t take it for granted.

Shoutout to @A10Driver and LS Yoda @cruisermatt for inspiring the direction of this build.

Also big thanks to @CenTXFJ60 @POTATO LAUNCHER @dogfishlake @Tank5 for the help and guidance along the way. This community is awesome.

Always wanted an 8274 on this truck, they just look right on 40 series cruisers. Picked up this bare bones 8274 to build how I wanted. It’s getting a warn contactor, 9.5xp motor, and some other goodies.

Disassembled today. These old rolling butcher tables are great for disassembly. Keeps everything neat and organized.

Truck has been running great. Went to crank it the other day and it wouldn’t start. No rpm signal to the ecu. Pulled the starter and swapped in a new crank sensor from autozone.

Unfortunately my 3.5” LCD was spazzing out too. Called Holley and they said debris can get lodged in between the LCD screen and the housing causing the LCD to spazz out. They sent me a new LCD screen and it fired right up. Got a baggie over it for now to keep the dust out. Thinking about mounting it in a hinged plastic jewelry box as a long term solution.
