Therein lies the catch 22 of immaculate restos... You've poured blood, sweat, soul and buckets of money into them until they're beautiful and perfect. Then you're afraid to use them knowing that damage of some sort is inevitable. It'll still be totally worth it!
Oh, them scratches are coming 🤫

Updates from the weekend....may be a bit out of order :)

I have been using the cheap ones off Amazon to get things apart but the hole they make is a bit big so if I need to reuse the piece I drill it with quality 1/4” drill bit then open it to 5/16” for a plug weld. I use a Snap-on tap&die set.

I'd like to preface this statement by saying that you obviously don't need any advice from me and definitely have a handle on things here, but having used both styles fairly extensively.... In my experience, the good(more expensive) Blair cutter is money very well spent versus the cheaper version, to the point after trying the good ones I never went back(and I'm as cheap as they come) Plus you can get smaller cutter heads for them since these things have itty bitty spotwelds.

This is cool!

Picked up the tub from @miller today. Let the grinding begin đź’Ş. Troy did a fantastic job. Not sure what I would have done without his help. About 105 hours of labor.

Ok, been a while since the last post. Finally got the tub off the trailer and on mobile stands for grinding the welds form the bodywork.
