  • We will caravan from Minden over Hwy 4 to the Sourgrass rec area near Dorrington, CA, for approximately 3 hours.
  • The campsite will be in a large flat area with lots of tall trees for shade on the banks of the North Fork of the Stanislaus River.
  • The trail itself is about two miles long and contains a few challenging sections. It’s a good trail for beginners looking to expand their skills. Sliders, skid plates, 33’s, and a winch (if not locked) are recommended as a minimum. Many have done it with less, the above just makes it easier.
  • This is the trail Georg Esterer used to run his “FJ45 Run” on, and he’s driven his stock 45 in there many times. Georg and others from NorCal will almost certainly be there as well. Hiking and fishing opportunities in camp are abundant. A Saturday day run to the Slick Rock trail is definitely possible and has been done in the past. After two nights, the exit is on Monday, Sept 5, and will not necessarily be as a group but I’m sure many will group up.
