@FJ60Cam told me about this loom. I freaking HATED it until I figured out it’s like Chinese handcuffs. You have to inchworm it along the wires. Now I’m sold. This is great for stuff you don’t have to break into to unhook. Perfect for single and double line looms you can pre make and heat shrink the ends.

I like to keep it systems separate to trouble shoot or remove. This is Dakota 12v, Sniper 12v and the other is the DUI signal and Tach

Also be sure to melt the cut ends before you try to use it or it get messy fast. I found that sliding a screwdriver into the loom before melting the end helps keep it from melting itself closed.

@Catching Neutral , this is how it goes with most of the people I build trucks for. I’m a stubborn bitch about things.

Text last week with the owner …..

I’m about 68 hours into this one and unfortunately I’ve got to table it for a bit while I wait for the engine to be built.

I took this one in while I was waiting for a motor for another project Seminole 65. I usually don’t take but one project at a time because I hate to make owners wait.

Luckily all the major work has been done and I’ll have it going in no time once there is another break in the schedule.

I slapped the 4Plus and rear shocks on and this one is about to make way.

Man, I think I’ve got this entire thing wired. The first Dakota took me 2 days. Same with the first Snipers. Now I can do both in a long day. I spent a lot of time looming and heat tubing and tucking.

I just have a battery laid on the frame with the harness hot hooked up and I’ve got some crazy deal going which I’m assuming is due to no good grounds but when I turn in the key my switched 12v comes on like normal.

The weird thing now is if I turn the light switch on it activates the switched 12v too with or without the key.

Grounds I’m sure. Never tried to wire a truck without the battery and grounds in place.

What type of mount is that holding the Sniper screen to the dash? I have yet to even think about how to mount my screen, and that looks like a good solution. Thanks!

The motor that is going into this truck was the one with the low-end knock we removed from the Seminole FJ45

This motor was beautiful and too nice to just trade as a core so I ran it up to Rory at Rocket City Cruisers for inspection.

Initially he called it a dry start when it shaved a bit off the lower bearings when I started the first time after possibly sitting up for a while.

He slapped new bearings on and then fired it up on his engine stand.

Knock was still there.

Full tear down found #4 piston was jacked. The other 5 were good to go. He gave me the option of fixing the one piston but that’s not the way either of us roll. This one is getting new .40 over pistons. Hopefully he will have it back soon and I can make my way up there to grab it.

Are those rims 5.5" wide?

I've been struggling to find a semi-affordable 17" I like that I don't have to run spacers with so I'm considering going to a 285/75r16 rather than the 255/85r16 to gain some width.

There is a guy in the steel wheel thread that put 255s on the Summit smooth vintique. They are 16x7. I thought they would make that skinny tire too square but they look good.

I’m digging the extra width on the City Racer wheels. Not gonna lie.

It’s filling up with parts so I don’t get them mixed up with the 45 project

The color on this one is stunning. She's a looker and she'll be a runner to match the looks when she leaves.

No bench. Hoping to break some new ground here.

Getting buckets to sit level with each other and keep the toolbox is going to take some
Wizardry

Stay tuned
