Slowly working my way to completing my brakes on my 40 series.
Need to make a line and we are complete.

I've been having gasbrake issues since the ls swap so I finally cut and pasted my brake pedal so it isn't as close to the dbw gas pedal. I also found the brake pedal sat way too far away from the firewall and was uncomfortable while driving so it also got pushed a little closer to the fw.

The big news is my apron scoop got painted body color.. lol.

Shims! Installed shims to improve the castor and pinion angles. They make a difference. Wish I had known about this when I originally installed the OME lift.

And then I went for a spin to give the truck some exercise. 100 miles later and I'm in Lockwood Valley doing some light wheeling . It's nice to finally have it running well enough to trust when I'm an inconvenient distance from a tow truck. I was alone so nothing crazy, but I got to use 4-Low quite a bit. She didn't let me down, which is pretty nice because it was lonely out there. Today I learned I'm definitely not a MOST DIFFICULT person. You can see that trail heading steeply up to the right in the first picture. Too rocky, steep and unforgiving.

Finished front seats! Had two broken springs at the back of the seat base so i did some surgery and swapped them to the center where they will see less load. Installed seat belts and drove her the furthest since i took ownership to take care of some work at the office. Got to show off my @ToyotaMatt LED license plate light tonight heading home past sundown, love the look of these units he puts out. Turned over 150 miles since the ODO rebuild. Slowly checking things off the list, feels good!

Next gotta figure out foam for the jump seat and get the cool cruisers covers installed on those things. Longer term decide if i want to finish the cage, or remove it completely. The half cage look isnt one im fond of.

After trying to tune the holley sniper on my 383 stroker, I gave up and took it to the professionals at Carb Connection in Kirkland WA.

I called the next day and he said "I cant tune this, I cant get vacuum and the engine just doesnt feel crisp" He was only able to squeeze low 200s hp on the dyno while expecting over 300.

I contacted the builder who sold it to guy I bought it from. He said asked for a compression check. All cylindars were around 170 psi, so we assume the cam was installed correctly and no sticking valves. He asked me to take it to him to test drive in two weeks, fingers crossed.

Also got a list of stuff to fix. Need to add a breather, PCV valve is not enough. IAC motor is sticking. Pressure switch on the willwood MC is now dead. Since i require brakes to start, I need to hot wire the switch to start.

But the good news is I finally wired up the windshield wipers to the switch pros using relays to provide a ground signal and diodes to supress the induction spikes. I also swapped out the fuel float that was providing eratic ohm resistance through the sweep.

Drove around, helped rebuild some knuckles.
