Patches are only essential to keeping the patina!

Fixed fender mount with some riv-nits, installed new soft hoses, adjusted drums, and bled system, filled steering box with some 90w and lucas additive. I think i need to work on drum adjustment some more, feels like i kept one wheel a bit tight as she doesnt want to roll as easy as before. This tool is the shiz for adjusting the wheel cylinders!

I also learned a new trick but didnt take a photo. With the brake wrench, use vice grips to clamp the wrench to the fitting for a very very tight grasp, gives you best chance of not rounding the corners of an old crusty fitting. Also gives you another lever to hold for more torque input. I rounded a fitting and came with the vice grip concept and put it to action and it worked! Cruiser gods were good to me today.

Figured the vise grip trick years ago. Only flare nut wrenches I have are cheap Harbor Freight. They would always expand and round the nut. When the vice grip is really tight would give it a good smack with a hammer. Same principle as an impact gun.

Recently discovered Evaporust when working on a Warn winch rebuild, so I decided to try it on my tail lights, ahead of installing the 4Plus guards and LEDs. Man, that stuff really works wonders... one of the lights was completely covered in rust, but after an over night soak, you can see the difference compared to the part the was sitting above the level of the liquid. No scrubbing at all, just rinsed it off under the faucet. Even cleaned up the wiring the connectors!

White vinegar with salt mixed in works great also. Just make sure to neutralize it really well after you knock the rust off with baking soda/water.

After probably the longest knuckle rebuild in mud history I finally managed to get time to button it up and get it out for a test drive. There are a few minor things that I need to finish up but it's probably going to be an ongoing thing for the next few weeks.

Unless fishing gets in the way.
