Year
1965
Vehicle Model
  1. 40 Series
This is a one owner FJ40 all of its life in the California Desert. There is rust below the driver seat but that is an easy pan replacement, the rear sill is intact. All steel body with desert patina. The straight six is a 236 1F and has original 3 speed transmission, last ran about 9 years ago.

This vehicle would be a perfect steel body replacement (I would keep the patina paint) for a rusted out FJ any year. Or for a restoration.

$10,000 OBO

I too love those early FST’s, Mine’s a 64. How is that loading dock attached, I mean rear bumper ?
Any chance the doors and soft top bows come with it ?
Thanks, Rick

It does have the bows and the doors, but the fabric is gone. I'm not an expert on those bumpers, but I'll try to get a picture under it. I'm no expert on those bumpers, maybe someone knows where they were purchased from or maybe they are stock? I've seen them on so many early FJ's.

I think those bumpers may have been dealer add on ? Just not sure how they were added on and how it is removed. Can you post some pics of those doors and bows ? Also, some pics of the rust below driver seat ? Is the motor free or stuck ? Jump seats ?
Thanks again, Rick

No jump seats, but I saw a pair in AZ for $150 just frame!
Here's the under seat show and the bows
I didn't try to spin the motor, last owner reported it was in running condition when parked a few years back.

Those are aftermarket bows and doors. Rear bumper is maybe a connfer or one of many aftermarket suppliers back then.

I was second in line for this truck @ $7500 out of barstow. The buyer lied to the seller. Seller was daughter of original owner. I told her someone was going to flip it if i didnt buy it, and she said she got some story of how this lady’s husband bought it for her to go riding out in the desert. I just shook my head. I hate flippers.

I deleted the texts so i wouldnt have the tempation of texting the lady when i saw it for sale the next day, and here we are.

On edit, now i see OP is the flipper. My statement stands. You lied to the seller, i doubt she lied to me about the story she was told...

Wasn't a lie, my assistant wanted a desert runner. But she's had 2nd thoughts about waiting on this build. I post deals on here more than anyone EWheeler, I hauled it and cleaned it up. The proceeds will let her get into a better FJ40. Forgive her if she tries to recoup some of the money on the haul and get a fair price for it. Better luck on the next deal, don't be such a hater.

I think everyone can vouch for me not being a flipper. Especially not at this level.

I personally don’t care if you are a flipper or not. I have flipped plenty of cruisers over the years. Most of us on here flip parts and cars like boys do baseball cards! It help us trade up to better projects.

Just sold for asking, thanks' everyone
