I would be more concerned about the harmonic balancer I see on the floor in post 151.
If it has a grove in it like mine does when I pulled early this week you well need to add it to the list of new parts.
It's 4 plus week to source one, never mind the cost $$$

What kind of groove do you mean, in the rubber itself? Can you post a pic?

That grove right where the seal rides, it was leaking and well leak again if I put back in like that.

that dirty timing cover is bothering me. Maybe i overdue things while I'm in there. Id be cleaning / painting back to an oem color with a ceramic paint. Sending injectors out to be cleaned / tested. Every hose would be replaced, rear heater deleted etc.

Good progress on the build!

I would strongly recommend to wrap the egr pipe with a header wrap of some sort.

Every hose is is slated to be replaced with fresh OEM rubber. As for the timing cover - that will be thoroughly cleaned before re-installation. I will see about getting the injectors sent out to be cleaned and tested. I appreciate the help! @ccslider: Where would I send them out to? I'll profess my ignorance. Also, is there any particular header wrap you like?

There are a few injector cleaners out there, they charge about 20-25 per injector. Rc engineering etc.

Look for a heat wrap sleeve that will fit on that EGR pipe to protect the wiring harness. DEI makes a few.

Good luck with your build. It should take you 20+ years into the future.

Do you know what the diameter of the egr pipe is? I am on Summit looking at the sleeves. ***Never mind - I'm too impatient. I went to Amazon and purchased every size. I'll return any unused ones.

EGR pipe sleeves ?

I guess you can’t disable EGR due to being in Commifornia? I think it’s approx 1” in diameter.

Not sure what you’re plans are for the engine harness but you should look into firesleeve for your engine harness nearest the EGR pipe. I got 7/8” but prefer the 1” wrap. It isn’t cheap but it’s better than anything I found on Amazon.

Some updates on the motor. The valve cover has been added, the exhaust manifolds are in place and heat shields are added. I needed to order the oil and heat unions. Got those picked up today. My mechanic has misplaced my harmonic balancer :bang:. I'm hoping he finds it soon. Other than that I am happy with the progress.

If you can't find it here's the Part number 13470-66030.
I orders one from Partsouq.com last Sunday and it scheduled to be here Monday by noon. FAST!!!

Honestly I'm disappointed to see how dirty that the parts are going back on such a clean and expensive Build. It's just not the Mud way, no offense intended 🤷‍♂️

I will be cleaning that after it goes back in. I'm having my mechanic do this and I am more concerned with getting it complete and out of his shop at this time. Like everyone here, I would love to clean each individual part to factory showroom sheen. However, my mechanic has had my car going on 11 months. I just want to get this done. It's all just surface dust, oil and grime. It will clean off pretty easily after it's done.

Dont sweat it man. It will still run great with some dirt on it. I'll be doing something similar shortly and have already come to terms with the fact my engine bay will never be mud-porn worthy. :meh:

Drive. Enjoy.
