I'd make a spare while your in there. Consider selling it once your done as proof of concept. Making some cash while working on your cruiser is a win/win

I am in the home stretch of the wiring...I completed the cut down and here is what is left with all the junction boxes removed with wires direct to the interface

I was surprised by the amount of wires left from that harness bundle!

Time to get this wired into the 80 annnndd Wiring Nest started... Ignore the twist caps, they are temporary...

Wiring is done... looks worse than it is... it should clean up once I know its good to go...

Fuel Pump was easier than expected...

I pulled both fuel pump assemblies and both are pretty much the same in terms of wiring and function. I realized I only needed to swap the pumps...

The fatty is the 80 pump.. but they are essentially the same size....

Here's the 100 pump into the 80 assembly... wiring/floater all the same... legos...

Just need to run some fuel lines, add a battery, double check my wiring, and hopefully we can crank it next week....:clap:

Its been fun to watch this unfold. George approached the electrics totally differently than I did, and has ended up with a very clean harness packaging solution. Can't wait to hear the open manifolds bark to life!

I'm sure Zack well be happy to have it out of his garage :p
And nice work, I would be like a dear in the head lights looking at all those wires !!!

Bro, twist caps, really? Pfft, I would’ve never noticed had you not pointed it out. Great work and incredible patience getting through all this.

What progress looks like. Getting close to hitting the key!

The donor vehicle from the 'outside' looks too good to be a donor but then I see all the rust etc....never judge a book by the cover hey?
great work & progress write ups plus congrats on getting it fired up, you must be :)

I took a chance and grabbed some Doug Thorley Headers with no idea if they would work in my 80....

ANNNDD... they fit perfect! :) Completely lucked out on the fitment of these... No cutting/modding.. (so far)

Passenger side, no issues...

This week I finally got back on the 80... Its been a slow month for the 80

My 40 broke down and spent a couple weeks getting that right.... Then took it out for a run around Windrock....

Power Steering:

Sometimes you win some.... The 3FE High Pressure line landed perfect on the 2uz Pump! No modifying... Plug and play... All factory... I'll take that win!

ANNNNDDD thats all the win I got... From here on.. the Pump fought me...

I didn't get a pic but the PS Return line was laying right over the Header... That didn't look right ... that Header is gonna get hot....

On Camo, that pump has a fitting that points toward the front of the truck (away from the header). SO I ran over to our local salvage yard and found an 05 4Runner and pulled the fitting below....

20220418_113538.jpg

OF COURSE that was going to be to easy.... The fittings are different sizes..... SOOO back I go to the salvage yard and grab the PS Pump.... :bang:

So note, 2uz PS Pumps are different and can't simply swap fittings... THANKS Toyota Engineering!

After a day of running around... I finally got the PS pump done... You can see the return line routes around the airbox from the front. Header avoided...

Shifters

Getting lucky again!!

The dam TC shifter landed in the same spot as the 3FE!!! MY Gawd!! Stock 100 TC linkages and positions were good.. No Modifying... Plug and Play..

20220418_173034.jpg

For the Transmission shifter, took some measurements cut a square matching the bottom of the shifter for the arm....

20220419_131838.jpg

Need to shorten the linkage a few inches for the Transmission but nothing more than a cut and burn... ZACH!!!!! :deadhorse: (@Zjohnsonua)

Shifters in! Done without gutting the interior !

Bonus: The 80 consoles will fit back in with only clearing the Tranny shifter hole...
