Thanks for all the input. I got the nut torqued on, have the pump back in now, primed and bled the system and am now waiting for a couple of hours to see if the fluid level changes before I crank it over. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for no "ticking" or leaks.

Well I’m not out in the snow today but I’m working with ice. Finishing stripping the factory insulation out in preparation for full sound deadening and new carpet kit. Lots of work being done on the truck lately.

Dry ice makes it so I can strip this passenger section clean in less than 10 mins.

How are you using the ice? Hand-held blast gun?

My delta panhard bracket arrived yesterday, would anyone happen to have handy the factory 80 series panhard bar length (eye to eye)? (so I can set the adjustable one correctly)

Quick still installed measurement shows about 31 and 3/4"

31 or 41?

the adjustable pandhard installed on mine is set to 42?
Sorry, I just googled Delta Panhard Bracket and see we're talking about the rear. That one is about 41 1/2 on mine stock.

Has anyone rekeyed an ignition cylinder before? My 60 came with two keys (ignition and one for all doors) and I'd like to get them matching. Before spending $200 to get a new ignition cylinder keyed for me from a vendor, has anyone done this locally from a locksmith perhaps and have a suggestion?

My ignition key has seen better days and I'd like some new ones cut but don't know the code for the ignition. I already had a new lock key made from the code on the passenger lock.

@Carlp336 recently did this on his 62 if I’m remembering correctly. He doesn’t get on mud much so I’ll let him know and maybe he can chime in.

Leon is up on the body and paint parade. Glass is out, started pulling dents. Lots of dents covered with filler. Found some odd rust under the primer on the hood. It is even pitted in spots.

Not cruiser related but I was reminded why I don’t miss owning German cars with their “creative” engine packaging.

My wife drives a MK7 VW Golf SEL and I had to replace the heater valve that electronically opens to allow coolant to flow to the heater core. Car was taking 20-30 mins of driving to start producing heat, long after car was up to temp. Buried under everything and not much space to work. Think it’s time for a water pump though…which VW decided to put under the intake manifold

I worked on one of those once. Just once.

I think I found my cable shifters for our 80. Big thanks to Mel Kluhsman of Kluhsman Racing Products for his patience on the phone!
Spring loaded handles allow you to set stops on the end. They handle dirt track racing, think we're good. They will mount as high as I can get them and still have full view of the stereo/Nav screen. Everything below that horizontal bar above the ashtray is going.
