Remember when we stopped at Falling Water and walked out in the rocks to make pictures of the falls? It looks different now after a heavy rain.

From my 14 day trip to Utah and Arizona over Christmas and New Years. 5 National Parks and 1 National Monument with me and the dog.
Grand Canyon Mather’s Campground it was only 3 F when we arrived but that night got down to -7 F.

Looks like an epic trip! Also, looks like you have the truck dialed up pretty well! Any equipment issues? Anything you'd do differently next time?
That's so cool. I want to learn how to do astrophotography.

Thanks @ClassyJalopy ! Yes, it was pretty darn awesome trip. No equipment failures and I had only a few minor issues:
1) Heating my RTT: my Mr. Buddy Heater had issues consistent supply when I was using a 12 foot long propane line / adapter that went to my 20 lb tank in the bitter cold. Once I switched to the 1 lb bottle it worked and stayed lit without issue. I had a carbon monoxide monitor, but don't feel comfortable sleeping with it on all night (open flame and all). The 12 ft extension line worked fine when I was using it to heat my awning room and for my Coleman dual burner stove. I noticed a bunch more condensation from using propane to heat the tent.
Field Solution: My dog slept in my sleeping bag to share warmth. I had a down blanket, 0 degree bag, 32 degree bag, and a liner. Plus we had 3-4 fleece blankets to survive, lol.
Solution 1: I placed an order for the zip in insulation liner for my roof top tent, as right now I would heat up the tent to about 70 degrees. But it would drop 30-40 degrees in about an hour after removing the heat. This should help retain heat and keep out the wind. I am glad I went with an aluminum hard shell RTT, as a few nights we gust of up to 30 MPH and we hardly noticed it.
Solution 2: I may look into getting a portable diesel heater like those that folks run in their RV and fancy conversion vans. I also saw a 4runner with portable one he got off Amazon for around 200 bucks. The noise was not noticeable, there wasn't any obnoxious fumes when I walked by his camp. He said the consumption was low, maybe 1/4 gallon a night if he used it on low to medium. Maybe 1/2 gallon on high when it was brutally cold. I'll have to do more research.
2) Solar Power / Solar Shower Tank: I have a 200 watt 12V immersion heater installed but since my 2 x 100W solar panels were struggling to produce even 60 watts at peak conditions, I only have the immersion heater when the truck was running or it would drain my starter battery too much. So my tank froze solid after a few days of single digits. While I did have a 2nd battery, I opted to be more conservative and not turn it on. I think in the spring and summer, the solar shower tank & immersion heater will be more than sufficient for hot showers. Also having it mounted on the lid of my roof top tent, helped get me my overhead press work outs in. I think I will relocate it to the Dissent Awning Brackets.
Field Solution: I used wet wipes for sanitation and boiled water to wash my hair / do dishes, lol.
Solution 1: Look into the Helton Heat Exchanger as each day I would idle my truck for 10-15 minutes to make sure my batteries got some charge. That would be ample time to generate some hot water quickly! Besides the immersion heater, my Ironman fridge and charging of electronic devices were pretty minimal and even with only 60 watts solar power, I never came close to needing the auxiliary battery.
3) Food Storage / Camp Kitchen Organization: I was using a clear 40 qt plastic chuck box, and bunch of reusable canvas groceries bags to organize my non perishable food and camp kitchen. While handy, when turning sharply or going down bumpy roads, those reusable canvas bags tended to tip over and spill their contents everywhere. I also sat on and broke my plastic chuck box mid way through my trip.
Field Solution: I got a 8 gallon Rubbermaid Action Packer in Moab to replace the broken kitchen chuck box and it's way sturdier
Solution 1: I plan to get 2nd 8 gallon Rubbermaid Action Packer for additional chuck box space and use a larger Pelican Hardigg 472 case for my kitchen pantry storage. I want to add additional tie downs points to my Landshark Dual Drawer / Sleep with the Fishes platform to keep stuff from rattling around when I'm doing curves or on the trail.

You can basically start with a DSLR, tripod, and a wireless trigger. I need to upgrade to a brighter lens and do more post processing of my images.
I took this in Zion National Park over thanksgiving using a 360 action camera (starlapse):

Amazing trip @dogdaysindurham ! You just checked off one of the items in my bucket list. But I would say I’d do mine in the months of March-April, I love cold and snow, but -7°F at night is too much for me
