That's fair. I just assumed it was already red
What's more important than color is flushing the coolant system at least every two years. I do mine yearly.

Got sick of waiting so I swam out and got them!

Replaced the tie rod ends with some 555s that the previous owner had purchased.
Discovered that a knuckle stud has been sheared off, and is broken inside of the knuckle (not the arms on the underside :( )

Anyone have tips for getting that stud out of a blind hole? Start drilling?
Going to source a 2 1/8" socket tomorrow to start taking apart the front knuckle on that side.
Pick up a set of left-hand drill bits with easy outs from O'Reilly's. IIRC, they are a cobalt bit and do an excellent job. I had the same issue on mine and as I started drilling, it caught and unscrewed the remainder of the stud.

I waited until I had the entire housing disassembled to drill them out. I replaced ALL of them with new cones washers, flat washers, studs, and nuts. I also tightened the studs to 43 LB-FT (No official spec is given for this) and I used red Loctite to keep them in (LOTS of controversy on doing this).

I have had zero loosening of the nuts or studs in 125K miles since the rebuild. I rarely offroad, but it is my DD on lots of pavement, so side and steering stresses are high as I maneuver into the parking spaces at the mall or picking up my double-half-caff-light whip-extra cream-peppermint latte with an extra shot of espresso.

replaced one of the bosch O2 sensors with a correct denso.
removed some mud from above the exhaust / cat guard above the O2 sensors

one of the nuts on the downstream O2 sensor has totally melted away, it is like a cone on the stud now, going to see what creative fixes I can come up with for that.

Took my 80 skiing for the first time. Mt Shasta area.

I’ve owned 2, 4WD Tacomas and 2 Outback’s in my life, none of those vehicles compare to how sure-footed the 80 felt on snowy, and slick roads. Very happy.

Happy New Year!!

Can confirm. We have had about 6-8" of snow and due to the fact that happens once a year they aren't setup to clean it. So all the side roads are packed snow and ice. And the 80 just toots along.

Same here, I'm down in Seattle and had to drop my in-laws at SeaTac mid morning on the 26th after the initial round of snow. We have an older Rav4 too but I wanted to use my 80. It felt like driving any other day, just with more care needed when stopping. I saw a couple other 100s out that seemed to be doing just fine too.

Had to exercise the CDL on my other grocery getter. Took a couple minutes of doing S turns fwd and reverse and the light finally came on. F/R diff lockers came on almost instantly after that.

Replaced a red dot on one of my 22 pistols to a smaller MOA dot. Got it zeroed and it’s a tack driver.😁
