Thanks fellas, I’ll get after it soon. I’m procrastinating still, thinking of getting a new front and rear panhard and upper and lower rear control arms. Etc. I’m inclined to just do it all at the same time.
You can always do the tie rod first - That's not going to be effected by anything else you're planning and might take some of the play out of the system.

Calling me out on my excuses. You’re right, I do just need to do this. I just have to wait until the easterly winds shift direction during the blue corn moon when the temperature rises .69* higher than the current conditions. Otherwise I may blow a head gasket. :flipoff2:

I heard that drinking beer first fixes all of those problems.

You’re probably right, but I’m a scotch, bourbon, Irish whiskey kind of man. Which is probably why I haven’t been getting anything done.

I haven’t touched my truck in a while and I’m okay with it. I’m just driving and enjoying it. She goes off the paved path, unlike some people ahem:flipoff2:

This just happened tonight and she is running strong and smooth!

You put the 4-ways on to celebrate?
Pulled off the road and onto the shoulder at night. Had my wife hold my 40 to take picture. Safety first, bro.

You’ve got this all wrong.

Safety 3rd:
1. Looking good
2. Feeling good
3. Safety

Fixed that for you:

Safety 3rd -
1. Looking cool
2. Impressing chicks
3. Safety, but only if it's not expensive and doesn't violate rules 1 and 2.

Copy! Mine was the format I used for teaching outdoor education to children. Obviously, as you demonstrated it’s easily scaled up to match a curriculum designed for 30 year old children.

Alright, fellas. Hope the holidays were good for you and your loved ones. We had some minor setbacks in the Pell household due to COVID but thank goodness everyone is gtg now. Yes, Christmas was canceled in my home and we spent time isolating/quarantining because my wife got the COVID during one of her volunteering activities with the church. Serves her right for spending time away from our kids and making me keep them alive.

Anyway, errbody is gtg so with that out of the way some updates:

1. BavRest Denso VAFM/AFM Refurb: I have about 750 miles on the refurbished VAFM on my 94. The truck is running great and the repair and refurb seem to be top-notch. As a side note, I like how BavRest bead blasted the crappy paint that the eBay dude sprayed on and got my original patina back.

2. I posted this pic in the thread Feldrian created but I'm reposting it here for posterity. The left rear passenger moulding was a pain in the arse to source but I ended up just buying it through Genuine Toyota Parts - Wholesale Prices | Modern Toyota Parts - https://wholesaledirect.moderntoyota.com/. I like these dudes and it's going to be even better for me when I move to TN since they're based in NC.
2b. I think I bought most of these separately but the front right moulding and a couple of other pieces of moulding are only ~$30 plus $13.48 for shipping through PartSouq. Other pieces of moulding are as cheap but for some reason, the shipping jumps to ~$40-50. Weird right? Anyway, shop around.

3. This is the other big order I've been waiting on. IWhat you're looking at here is every bit of rubber and weatherstrip from front to back. It's a lot. I'm not going to use any of these parts right now but wanted to buy these soonest because I have FOMO. They were ALL available through partsouq so I figured I may as well. I'll be sending these to TN so I can replace all the glass and rubber during my repaint. You can see how bad my hood looks through the parts.

IMG-2426.jpg

4. Since we're on the subject of repaint, I'd like your opinions on it. The Dark Emerald Green Metallic (6M1) paint color of my cruiser is either loved or hated, there is no in-between. My kids and wife love the 6M1. I don't love it. Here are the following options as I see it:
a. Don't paint it. Keep the s***ty paint job so you're not worried about scratching it
b. Repaint it 6M1. After all, she is your baby and you want to protect her. who cares if you scratch her while using her? I don't mind 6M1 but I'm not in love with it. It's a beautiful color, don't get me wrong.
c. Repaint her in a totally different color. I'm thinking a dark gray or even keeping it green, just a much darker green. The spousal unit and kids will be pissed but they don't have a vote in this matter. I'm head of household and we are single-income. Otherwise known as the "it's my party and I'll cry if I want to" argument.
d. What other option am I not considering?

This is excellent. I should do this. FOMO for cruiser parts is real.

Glad you’re all gtg now with infectious airborne pathogens. They cramp your style. Here’s to a better 2022!

Nice work, I need to do this soon. This just made it that much easier....

Not true. Moderators and several members made it very clear that they didn’t like my posts, so I just moved it to a different platform. Plus I’m here all the time, mostly in the 40 section, just don’t post anymore.
There must be something wrong with those boys, I for one miss your posts

I think it's hard to contribute meaningfully to tech for the 80 series, but this list is exactly why this thread is a standout-organized, informative, concise and easy to read! You're killing it!

There must be something wrong with those boys, I for one miss your posts
You’re right Broski, I don’t know who would have issues with seeing beautiful women and cruisers in the same setting. I love women. I love cruisers. Throw some cigars and scotch into the mix and I have no use for pornhub anymore.

That's a lot of rubber.
As to repaint; you are leaning to the '97 being the nicer build correct? Maybe get a higher level Maaco repaint in 6m1 for the '94 ($2500-3k I think is what's been posted on the forums for better prep and paint from them). Then go nutty on the '97
I like the Toyota "Army green" a la trd pro 4runners etc. I've seen a really neat green on some Dodge vehicles lately too It's muted, but still has a bit of sparkle to it in sunlight. I've seen it on a Charger. BMW has had some pretty wild colors on their "M" series vehicles during the last 10 years.
Paint is a funny thing, you could stay within the Toyota palettes, or go nuts. I'm still nowhere near a decision for my rig although I'm "leaning" towards a 55 pattern.
