Could I trouble you for a picture of the setup in your Troopy?
Here’s what I grabbed really quick. If you need something closer or better angle just ask!

I want to get the mobile again, which means swapping out the leaky fuel tank.
So I pulled out the repaired tank that came on my Pig originally and gave her a quick coat of paint.
I did a little clean and prep and as I was shaking the rattle-can, you could feel the temp dropping. We went from 60 degrees to 30 fairly quickly yesterday. Hope the paint will hold!

I'd think so, yes. But it seems to be long gone.

I'm wondering if you could use the w/cooler downpipes and hoses from a 3F/3FE. I just looked at my Troopy with 3F and all the plumbing... it seems like it would adapt pretty easily to a 40-series layout. We know a 3F/3FE drops into the same mounts.

PartSouq shows 16577-61130 for all the 3FEs:

But you already have that one, right? And it conflicts with the belt?
I wonder if you could use the 2F one with the heater bung on it... and just block off the heater bung. There are OEM caps for unused coolant line bungs.

Sorry I never replied here!
I do not have that one.
Here you can see my current set up for lower rad hose, just some straight tube:

Would that belt sit above the level of the motor mount when tightened and no pipe/hose in the way?
I honestly think the 2F w/AC w/Heat drop is the one you want... and cap the heat return.

You could be right.
But is that the one that is NLA?
I no longer remember what hose we used going out of radiator outlet to the bottom of the water pump.
That will make a difference as well…

I will have to crawl back under and check to see if the belt will sit level with the motor mount as per your question above.

I also need to replace the leaky fuel tank. The days are getting longer, the weather is getting warmer. Time to start paying attention to the Pig!

w/cooler l/heater is NLA

w/cooler w/heater is 16577-61120 and from what I can tell, still available.

In the spirit of moving the gas tank replacement along, I thought I would get after it this weekend.

I posted up about the repair to my original tank right around a year ago: anybody ever put an fj40 fuel tank in an fj55? - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/anybody-ever-put-an-fj40-fuel-tank-in-an-fj55.1247738/page-2#post-13768547

Not sure how it got to be a year later!

At least shows why the Pig smelled like gas before I drained the tank.

This replacement tank looks very similar to the original tank that came with my Pig, but the crossmember for the spare tire winch was touching the tank - not good!
Not sure why. Was the crossmember spaced down from the frame originally?

I can't find any differences in the 2 tanks at a quick glance:
