No they do not drive RHD vehicles. So do they actually drive rhd vehicles there or are these just imported for part outs ? Always thought that new cars where cheaper there ?
My understanding is that they sell a lot of parts into Africa from Sharjah. And whole vehicles. With only very narrow exceptions it is not possible to register a RHD vehicle in the UAE. I do want to add that a lot of these are old mine vehicles from Australia and, with exceptions, disassembly for parts may be the best use of them...So do they actually drive rhd vehicles there or are these just imported for part outs ? Always thought that new cars where cheaper there ?
Please PM me. I don't really feel comfortable 'publishing' for a lot of reasons, including not disappointing people! For example, the last time I bought new tires and rims I paid a lot less than this time for Jan's truck. That and these guys move around so if someone comes on this thread a year from now the information may no longer have any use.Pls share if possible. My brother is in UAE. Those tires and rims were date code week 21 of 2021. Prices have gone up however. And they wanted and got about $200 per rim and tire combo
@janyyc are you still in DXB?
I’m here as well on a hunting trip.
Here till Thursday if you want to meet up.
EDIT: doh… never mind. Your trip has come and gone.

Hi how can I contact you I need to come there I need series 70 body
Hi, am very interested with those body parts of land cruiser lx out there, @ janyyc can you pls give me name of this scrap yard that i can have a visit there?I was going to post this in my build thread, but I have so many pictures, and I think you'd like to see them.
At the recommendation of @John Young I visited some Sharjah scrap yards he had scouted out. They are truly amazing. Most 70-series parts seem to come from Australia, with some cars being complete... others taken apart... There's one specialist in new take-off 79 parts (beds, wheels, etc.). It's mind-boggling. Bucket list item for our likes for sure!
