I want to consolidate my thoughts, questions, plans and progress on my new to me trailer with slide in camper.
I figure I might as well start a build thread here that way it could serve as information thread for others that might want to do this also.

the slide in camper is a 1999 and it is in great shape.
the trailer is a 32’ open deck gooseneck trailer with 2 x 7k axles.

I bought it in Virginia a few weeks ago on the way up to CMCC in Pennsylvania.
Saturday, I borrowed Johnys f550 to go get it since the hardware for my gooseneck receiver had not arrived in the mail.
Overall I’m pretty excited with the new purchase and will be a game changer for me when going out to events.
there are lots of plans in the works but I will detail those later.

We stopped at 9:00 pm to check it out on our way up to Pennsylvania and Johnny was nice enough to take this photo of the trailer.

^^ You know, that might not be a bad idea. If we're boondocking somewhere, running two RVs at once would make running that diesel genset worth it.

Also, gonna leave this here:

just need to add some telescoping roof poles and build a rotary lift into the deck

Party Deck!! When I worked at Nextel/Sprint, we hauled in 8-10 trailers to every NASCAR race for coverage/capacity. We called them COW's (cellsite on wheels). Most of the trailers had a roof-deck with a light-weight folding rail system...

Priority for now is to mess with the exterior. The first thing on the agenda is to reseal the whole camper. While I’m waiting for the products to reseal the roof and all the side seams I have been stripping all the ugly stickers from the trailer.
The plan is to prime the camper and repaint it with 1 stage automotive paint. The rest of the trailer is going to be sprayed with black rustoluem thinned down with acetone.

the biggest issue is previous owners probably didn’t do required or proper seam sealing maintenance or probably wanted to avoid having to do it. Their solution was to use some sort of butile tape that works very well to seal the seams but looks ugly as hell. So I am stripping it all off. I thought it would be harder to peak off since it is designed not to come off but the GOOF OFF product does away with the sticky stuff rather quickly.

so that is where I am currently at right now. Stripping the camper and getting it ready for paint.

The interior is very clean and very practical but super outdated. At some point I will get started inside.
Some of the key points will be:

new matress
New paint - the interior is kind of dark. My plan is to prime and paint everything white, walls, ceiling, cabinets
New floor - going to upgrade the vinyl flooring with pvc flooring that is stain resistant and water resistant.
New upholstery - going to pull off the old material and recover the cushions with new material that will match the new interior colors.

The interior should be rather easy since I already have most of what I need to give it a quick update. The only thing I will need to buy is the fabric for the cushions

will post up some pics of the interior later when I get better photos in the day light.

HIGHLY recommend Eternabond for RV roof seams if you need it:

Either you or @GLTHFJ60 have to incorporate a hot tub! That's my last weigh in on the topic :D

I haven’t posted it on here
Here is the new to me 81 first gen Toyota. Took this photo at CMCC right after Johny and I mounted the new 40” sticky trepadors.
