I guess I haven’t posted pics of my “shop” in this thread. I call it a shop because I installed a sub-panel with more power than my first house had ( I can run the 220v compressor, a/c, plasma, and welder all at same time) these pics are after moving parts washer, blaster cabinet, drill press, and workbench to other garage.

I'm envious!! I don't even have a shop at my house.

Shop is a very generous term. 9'x22' can't really be considered a shop. Couldn't even fit our Expedition in it, let alone a lift. I would definitely trade it for your set-up!
You could ask Tayma if she would trade and you could move into the big garage! (good luck with that, right??)

I’ve been given full access to the 3 car garage, but it is too short. I will be moving more tool and parts to the bigger garage, but the single car will still be the shop.

I finally got all the parts to finish up the e-brake and bolt in the rear driveshaft. With the added length of the h55f/split case the OEM e-brake cable was too short, so I sent it off to California Push-Pull to get it extended 5". I wasn't sure how they lengthen the cable until I got it back from them... they just build a completely new cable and send back the original unmodified.

The cable they built wasn't a perfect clone of the OEM (end that hooks up to pull was too fat to fit in the factory slot), but it was close enough that I was able to make it work.

The end that goes into the brake housing was a perfect fit.

Put the drum on, torqued the nut to 60 ft-lbs, and staked it. Bolted in rear driveshaft, and found that it is on the ragged edge of being too short. I'll get it lengthened soon, but was too anxious to get everything bolted up and go for a short drive.

Swapped on proper tires and went for a drive.

Drove it around the block, and as soon as I pulled back into the driveway it started blowing coolant everywhere.

Popped the hood hoping to find something not too serious, and was relieved to find that it was just the upper radiator hose clamp and popped off, so the water pump was spraying coolant everywhere.

No fire and getting home under its own power makes me count this test drive as a success.

Next up is getting to the exhaust shop, and then get it though the state inspection to get it registered. With any luck it will be street legal within the next week or two.

I cut that upper hose too short. It was on the list I think or I pointed it out. Sorry bout that.

Don’t forget to put fluid in the Tcase. I drained it because it was leaking without having RTV on the splines.

Yeah, not a big deal. Out of all possible fluid leaks I would pick coolant from a radiator hose at my number one choice. You might have told me when we were going over it when you dropped it off, but I had so much going through my head that if you did tell me it went in one ear and out the other without it registering with my brain.

I remembered t-case fluid thanks to just getting the Orion for my 40 from Georg with a tag on it that it was empty and to remember to fill.

Looking great!!!!!

I got in the 55 the other day, and tried putting rear window down using dash switch. Nothing. Tried using the key in the tailgate. Nothing. I’m guessing if it was the dreaded broken gear I’d hear something? Guessing it is a power issue, so pulled out wiring diagram and looks like there is no fuse but rather a circuit breaker between the alternator/fusible link & fuse block for the tail gate control switch. There is a fused power from turn fuse that goes to a relay that powers the tail gate remote switch, but not both the remote and control switch. The circuit breaker would kill power to both.

I’m not a 55 wiring guru, so any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks in advance.
