I’ve been able to use a bottle jack and a bar (chunk of wood) with good luck. Even then have bent hangers with pins just being too bonded to bushings.

I love the backyard engineering of this group. I’m putting in new pins, so I’m cutting the old ones out. I think it took 30 seconds with my angle grinder.

Related to @RUSH55 , I had 2 ratchet straps moving the axle back and inward to line up the pin from spring into the hanger. A few cranks and slipped right in.

@tucker74 is right burn 🔥 em out works too! What happens is they rust inside the bushings and Expand! Thats why they're so hard to get out. I've seen them 8th to 1/4 inch larger just from the rust 😳😉. That's why the grease and greasable pins are so important 👌. They had it right in the 40s and earlier when stuff was made to last and not disposable!! My 47 Ford had grease fittings on all shackle pins and everywhere else needed! Also had a Disc brake "E" brake on the driveshaft 😳😉🇺🇸
