3rd / OD numbers are with the torque converter locked up. Unlocked add about 200 RPM.

35's and 4.88. I keep it about 77mph on the freeway around 2800 rpm's, sometimes I will push it to 80 mph to pass. I'm running a turbo now, so this speed ,even with pulling a trailer is easy to keep up with and the gears stay in 3-4

In fact... OD with torque converter locked is the 'ideal' situation for highway speeds. Typically, the best fuel mileage (subject to some exceptions) and lowest transmission temps.
