Finally got around to coming up with a way to mount my MTB on the swing out. Took some doing, but it turned out pretty good. Might need a flag for the bike!

I’m still the slowest. Three months have passed since I started these and I made a few changes and little progress. Drivers side is almost done. Passenger side is still under construction.

The main steps are done.

Installed a new sticker and finally got rid of a pesky obd2 code caused by my after market headers with help from Hudd expo. I also checked the fitment and fiddled with this cargo barrier/sleeping extension. The locking hinges introduce a little more play into the barrier than I like. I might scrap the hinges and try something different.......

The monochrome grey progress continues... I used the SOR vinyl wheel-well covers, dupicolor medium gray, Home Depot outdoor carpet, grey door edging from Amazon (that I crimped onto the carpet to edge it out)... and new clips on the panel, for sure. I sound-deadened under the carpet and behind panel, as well. All in all, I’m liking it (and the wife likes it, so I guess that’s the only opinion that really matters).

Wow quality work. Looks great

Dropped by the hardware store - picked up a new electric drill.

A bit over GVWR I suppose... 3200 lb load (at least) plus 1600 lb trailer. Definitely felt the weight, slow to move out, but it towed very nicely - mostly in 2nd gear.

Was putting my mud flaps back on after the trip and existentially pondering why reinstall these at all, when it started to rain. This turned into celebration as little puddles formed heralding the return of all four sunroof gutters draining happily again!!!😂

It was supposed to storm today but the weather turned out great so I was able to get some stuff done today. I found a cool old Ben Pearson colt recurve at the pawn shop a few weeks ago for $50.00 and I talked the owner into throwing in an old craftsman torque wrench with the bow. I cleaned the torque wrench up today and used it to torque my lug nuts after installing some Iron man coil spacers. I couldn't have done the coil spacers without the dogs emotional support...

The day was so nice I decided to keep working on this project.

At first I used some locking hinges but they were not solid enough for my liking. This is my 2nd attempt and I think it is going to work.

I also had an antenna mount break a few weeks ago so I went ahead and fixed it while I had the welder out.

It’s been awhile. I bought some Ironman recovery points from their web site but they took too long to fulfill the order. In the 4 days I waited for an update, I contracted “diy guy buyer’s remorse”. It’s a bent piece of steel with some holes drilled into it for $100.

I took the stock tie down points and beefed them up. Really it was a matter of “completing” the paltry welding from the factory and adding some pieces of steel from a 16mm old control arm to frame bolt I had lying around. Also added a 1/4” gusset for fun. Please see pics of a completed one vs a “factory” example.

would you guys run it? Feedback from any of our engineer friends would be greatly appreciated.

Added some 1/4 plate to give it more strength and some side attachment points. It bolts through the side of the ARB bumper using the captive frame nuts.
