When I upgrade to 37s I am thinking of going with a 17x9 with either 3.5" or a 4.5" with a 37x13.5x17. Does anyone have any experience running either a 17x9 3.5" backspacing or 4.5" backspacing with a 37x13.5 tire?

I'm running a 17x9, -12mm offset, which should work out to a 4" backspace. Puts the 37x12.5x17 KO2 flush with the edge of the flares. Half inch either way would be fine.

Another data point, I was running 365/75/R16 BFG KM2's on stock wheels. I measured them at 13.75" at their widest. They were too wide and would drag heavily on the control arms near full steering lock. Also sat flush with the outside edge of the flares.

Here's my junk:
345 75 16 KM2's 1" wheel spacers
OME J's with 30mm front spacers
NO bump drops (just trimming & massaging metal) ;)
Stock rear sway bar (with drops)
No front sway bar

It appears that the 37's are a bit to tall as it looks like your going to get wheel rub unless to have some rubber travel limits on your rig .. I don't know if I would go more than 33 / 34 inches to increase wheel well clearances .. Does this make sense ? ..

A large number of folks are going for the 37" tires .. I understand it does aid in ground clearance but the folks that are using 33"'s 34"'s claim that Center of Gravity means more to them .. How do you feel about that claim ? ..

Thats why i am only running a 4" lift and not more. you can run 37s on 2.5" suspension and will clear on most street application, but the minute you go offroad, you are going to rip off most of your flares and all sorts of rubbing. 4" lift, with a 81" stance works for me
