Ok this is the final thread for a while lol.

im ready to start building my 3-fe and all I’m really gonna be using it for is a daily driver/overlander with the tiniest anountoff off-roading. I will be regearing, most likely to 4.88’s. I will be putting a 3 inch lift on it soon as well.

are 35’s really necessary for overlanding? Will 33’s suffice for the tiny amount of off-roading I’ll be doing? How will 4.88’s perform with 35’s on the highway? (I need to be able to hold 70-75 mph on the highway, lots of hills)

Anything will work for overlanding including stock. The two main questions you will want to answer is performance and the look.
With a 3" Lift you will want 35's. Anything less in my opinion on an 80 looks too small. 1" lift 33's look perfect. 4.88's will work perfectly with either choice. Flat land you will hold an easy 75 but on hills you will most likely always be downshifting with the 3FE or running it in 3rd most of the time. Just my 2 cents.
