Finished up installing all the gutted interior parts and stereo. Also, I lubed all the locks, latches, and hinges, and replaced the disintegrated nylon/fiber washers on the tailgate support things. The Philips were stripped on the bolts for the tailgate so I had to use vise grips to get them out. I used a Dremel tool and slotted them for future use with a large flat blade.

I also happened to notice this sticker on the windshield when I was cleaning.

Based on a rough estimate, this rig has been driven approximately 12,000 miles a year sense 2011. While we're on the topic of stickers I also added a new sticker to the line up.

Going to take this new to me 97 on its first real trip to do some camping this weekend. I am a little nervous and very excited to be back to camping and adventuring.
Damn! Your math is as bad as mine!

11033 miles since 2011 = 1225 miles per year since 2011, not 12,000......

Finally got rid of all the crummy polly bushings. Installed Dobinsons lower control arms and some cheapie seat covers.

Not sure I installed the bushings in the correct orientation. I expected them to come with instructions. Dobinsons has been awesome great products and very speedy shipping. Ordered on Wednesday and installed today.

That's what happens when you drink and post on Ih8mud..... Kind of like fishing stories.
1 beer = 22"
3 beers = 32"
4+ beers = state record

Completed my first maiden voyage with the rig. Did 300ish miles to escape the brutal 110+ temps and relax for the weekend. The 97 with part time doing a lot of 55-65mph highway driving with 30ish miles of dirt averaged 16.7mpg's. I am very impressed with the fuel efficiency for highway driving. The rig didn't skip a beat and it ran great with no issues so I am super happy. The mountain had a fire restriction so I figured I would take a couple of Coleman lanterns to make up for the lack of a campfire.
