Hi Matt, I really love that you have moved forward with this initiative. Once upon a time I fabbed up a rack to hold my KC spots. For me "fabbed" means nuts and bolts and a few rivets. I could really use a talented dude making me a proper light rack that doesn't wobble at 60mph and look like s***e. Drop me a PM when you have some spare time on your hands.

do you still have my #? Shoot me some pictures, i can probably help soon.

Hi Matt,

I see that you are doing some outside work on Landcruisers and I was wondering if you would be interested in replacing the header gasket on my 83 FJ60 cruiser. It is leaking around the carburetor. I already have the gaskets (2) recommended per Ih8mud. The 60 is desmog. Let me know.

Thanks

Charlie

Hey Charlie, long time no see. I can handle it, not sure it's worth the drive just for a header gasket though! Have you looked into any shops in Ocala?

Pan gasket, valve adjustment, desmog, (well, redoing the PO's desmog ), thermostat, rear brakes, and some other cleanup and odds and ends on this super solid Texas 60 owned by @FJ80joe. Also the first prototype battery cable kit by @ToyotaMatt went on as well too.

This week’s agenda is some light service work on @Cabs very nice HJ45 before it goes up for sale. This one is super tight.

There's some nice rigs you're working on. I can see you becoming very busy. Hopefully you'll finish your schooling though.

I'm happy to wrench on anything from a trail rig that's rough around the edges to the nice classic

I have two great 2F cores I’ll be rebuilding shortly here that will be for sale if anyone is interested. One will be a assembled long block and the other will be a short block. I also have a 3FE cylinder head that will be going to the machine shop for a refresh, along with the majority of the EFI parts if someone is interested in a 2FE setup.

Hi Matt. Sorry it took me so long to reply, I ended up doing it myself, after all I was the one who put it on 20 years ago. just gets old replacing it ever 4/5 years. This time I put two gaskets on ( per Luis ) What I need is if you can what is the torque and is there a pattern? thanks! hopefully soon we can all get together again charlie

You know things are getting serious when one of these crates show up.

Before / After ;)

There’s a new long-spline McNamara gear in there now too. Should be good for another 250k miles. I doubt the 2F lasts that long though ;)

In addition to the new H55f and transfer case rebuild I also did a knuckle job on @brutledge very very nice 60. No before picture but they were the typical 250k mile leaking mess.

Fun weekend job out of the home shop adding this light rack for @Irish Reiver

And seeing as I don't really have any major Cruiser-related projects of my own right now, especially since all my summer wheeling plans got cancelled, my friends and I decided to throw a car together for the Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge. If you're interested, read about it here. Fair warning, it's junk. And we are treating it like junk :hillbilly:

Check this out, Curtis drove his CruiserMatt-prepped FJ60 cross country for some adventure this weekend. He's in New Mexico this week  @CurtB
