Hey guys, finally got a small space setup for some cruiser work. Thought I'd make this thread to show some of the trucks and jobs that come in and out :)

Eric's FJ40 came in with loose steering, leaky box, poor brakes, and desperately needed some engine bay cleanup. All new 555 tie-rods, drag link, relay rod, center arm rebuild, steering box reseal, new rag joint, alignment.. and 4-degree caster shims to correct the negative caster from the long shackles o_O. Needless to say the handling is much improved. Also rebuilt the leaking rear drums, new brake master, booster, front pads, etc. I did a knuckle job on this truck last year too. Tidied up some vacuum lines and fixed a few leaks. It runs amazingly with a Jim C carb and recurved distributor, now steers and stops just as well.

Also did on FJ60 alternator swap and new battery cables, and ripped out bunch of PO wiring.

Nice and tidy now.

I really like using these mil-spec battery terminals. The majority of electrical issues I see on older Cruisers stem from poor connections at the battery.

How it looked before o_O

Got this 60 in now for some general fix-up.. fixing some typical PO farm repairs

I usually start by ripping wires out. :)

Great to see all this Matt. Great move on your end. The stuff you have learned and done on your truck and more definitely gives you the cred. I will share this with my boys.

Thanks Ceylon. I might go dig through my backlog of different projects and post up some cool stuff from the past few years that haven't seen Ih8mud

Looking good Matt. I used to live in Lakeland and owned a 62 while I was down there. Ive always followed your work. Cool you’ve got a dedicated shop.

New front 5.29’s for @Oscar Witte after he grenaded them pulling my friend’s Jeep out of a mud hole. For everyone else don’t pull in reverse with an 80.. bad for front hi-pinion diffs. Check out the chunk in the ARB, it still works too!

Hey Charlie, hope you’re doing well.
I’d recommend a Saginaw conversion. Especially for your 60.

Nice Matt. Great move on your part.
What Jimmy said. Hope this pans out for you. I know South Florida needs a reputable Land Cruiser specialist vs. the schister shops.
Good luck.

Thanks guys. I’m still going to college perusing my BSME degree. Ive been doing side work from time to time for a few years now just hoping to ramp it up a bit. I ended at my regular job a few weeks ago, and hopefully not going back to one until after I graduate. Going to hopefully keep overhead low and not get in over my head. Already have the next several weeks booked out with Cruiser work.

Matt. Thanks,, doing good. why is a Saginaw better and how hard is it to change over? your doing some nice work.

It bolts in with a kit. They put out a bit more pressure so that's better for bigger tires. The pumps are super common, on almost every GM vehicle since the 70's.
Here's a link to the kit
